Bruce Lee's Non-Classical Gung-Fu
Published in Paperback by Glover Publications (December, 1978)
Author: Jesse R. Glover
Average review score:

Jesse GLover, Bruce Lee's first and foremost student
Jesse Glover has written books on Bruce Lee that stand as the only information available on how Mr. Lee was trained before coming to the United States, his training and thinking when he arrived here, and the foundation he began to evolve to arrive at his later skills. Mr. Lee did not teach his foundation, which occured during his Seattle years, after leaving Seattle. Jesse Glover is supremely qualified to discuss this foundation and time, as he was Bruce Lee's training partner, whom Mr. Lee used to work out changes, and eventually that foundation. This particular book also includes pictures and information on Wong Shun Leong, one of Bruce Lee's senior, and formative instructors, before Mr. Lee came to the U.S. In a society concerned primarily with image, perhaps it is fitting that Bruce Lee's formative years, and his foundation, remain anonymous. Mr. glover's books are the only substantive information on this subject.

Bruce Lee, King of Kung-Fu

One of the First, and Still the Best, Bio on Bruce Lee
This Bio on Bruce Lee by Felix Dennis and Don Atyeo is still the standard by which I measure the other biographies on this martial arts legend. This book takes the generally accepted chronilogical format in detailing Bruce's life and death. It provides enough information on his life and death without resorting to too many rumors. Although it sticks to the facts, it is not boring.

It tells the story of his martial learnings and romance with Linda Lee without becoming vouyeristic. It strikes the right amount of balance of what a "fan" should know. This may be due to the time it was written, so shortly after his death that many things were not yet known or for the simple fact that these writers had some integrity and avoided endless silly sketches on his life.

The book is also an easy read (I have had this book since 9). The photos are now old, but are mixed well in the book and a few I have not seen in other materials. This is a classic text, and a must for Bruce Lee fans.

Bruce Lee: The Lost Interview
Published in Paperback by Little-Wolff Publishing Group (June, 1994)
Authors: Pierre Berton, John Little, Bruce Lee, and Bob Wolff
Average review score:

The words of legend.
This book is a collection of the JKD phylosophy in the words of legend himself. Reading this book is one of the best way to experience Bruce Lee's openmindedness and wisdom. Each single quotes of Bruce Lee sounds stanning and deeply impressive because of his phylosophy education background. This is not only a great JKD text but also a great phylosophy book.

Buckminster Fuller : An Audio Biography
Published in Audio Cassette by Radio Bookstore Pr (25 September, 2000)
Authors: Lloyd Steven Sieden and Laura Lee

Real stories behind the great man
Listening to "Buckminster Fuller An Audio Biography" is like sitting at a coffee shop with Lloyd Sieden as he tells engaging stories of the life of his friend Buckminster Fuller. Stories range from Bucky's acheivements to his struggles to continue his "life as an experiement". The human side of Bucky is protrayed and I felt a connection with his unique spirit. I especially enjoyed the story of how Bucky's uncles raised money to pay for his college. With money in hand Bucky's interest in a good time diverted him from making it to college.

Build Self-Confidence (Self Hypnosis and Subliminal Reinforcement)
Published in Audio Cassette by Great American Audio Company (June, 1988)
Authors: Lee Pulos and Great American Audio Corp
Average review score:

Excellent example of a "Double" Induction --- And It WORKS.
I didn't know what I had for years. I borrowed this tape 7 years ago from an acquaintance who never wanted it back. Just recently I became very interested in self-hypnosis and began listening to this tape to see how it works. On Side B, Dr. Pulos uses two voices, one in the right channel and another in the left, two very similar but differently worded hypnotic inductions running simultaneously. While listening with stereo headphones, one can easily "trance out". I did and I must add that the suggestions were not pushy at all. The speakers' reassuring voices simply invited me to trust my subconscious to do the right things. Sounds trite, but dude, it worked! I did act more deliberately and calmly in work and social situations; I was not second-guessing myself as much. I noted these results after listening to the tape several times a week for about two weeks. Too Cool.

By Any Means Necessary: The Trials and Tribulations of the Making of Malcolm X
Published in Paperback by Hyperion (Adult Trd Pap) (December, 1992)
Authors: Spike Lee, Ralph Wiley, and Malcolm X
Average review score:

An informative and educational book on an important film.
"By Any Means Necessary" is an excellent book on the making of the film "Malcolm X" by director Spike Lee. Not only do we get a chance to see the film from the director's eye, but we also get to read all of the hassles he had to go through in order to come out with a film in Hollywood. The whole tone of the book, like all of Lee's books on his firms, is that of a diary. So what we're reading is random notes, scribbles, and just little lines that he will remember down the line. It almost seemed like a match made in hell: Spike Lee, considered to be a "controversial" film director, does a film on the line of Malcolm X, considered to be a controversial human rights figure. Throughout the book, Lee has to remind himself that despite the nay-sayers, the film will be done, even at times when he doubts his own creative genius. There are also thoughts from some of the actors (including Denzel Washington, who also played Malcolm X in his early years), but the best words come from Lee

Caesar: On Deaf Ears
Published in Paperback by Benefactory (August, 1997)
Authors: Loren Spiotta-Dimare and Kara Lee
Average review score:

The touching story of a deaf puppy who finds a loving home.
The story of Ceasar is based on a true story. It is an endearing story of a deaf puppy who is given a second chance to become someone's beloved pet, rather than being "put to sleep" as an unadoptable stray. It is shows the triumph of determination, on the part of his human companion, to train Cesear despite his handicap. The companiaon tape recording enhances the reading experience.
